The Wind of Grevesmühl Bay

Released

Pour the ale and bar the door, The wind is howling down the shore. You want to trade in Grevesmühl land? …then listen close before you stand. North of Brechtur’s merchant gold Where the sea runs dark and cold, Lies a coast of iron grey Where hard men sail and few men stay. Trie’s the only lantern bright In a realm of wind and night, Ships come limping through the foam Praying they’ll sail back home. Oh the wind! The wind! Grevesmühl wind! Cold as iron, sharp as sin! Gnolls in hills and thieves at sea, None come here for charity! Raise the mast and guard your pay, Trade your steel then sail away! For gold runs thin and graves run deep In the land of Grevesmühl keep! Dwarves below the mountain stone Hammer iron for coin alone, Deep Steel miners guard their gate And sell their blades for double rate. Black Ice traders count their gain While the forests fall for chain, Axes bite and wagons roll Till the hills themselves take toll. Shaemes sits his broken throne More for wine than crown or stone, Kings may rule by law or blade But here the guilders hold the trade. Yet the hills beyond the pass Hide the gnolls in shadowed mass, When the horns of Hjorthar cry Even dwarven walls run dry. Caravans that crossed the snow Left their bones where wolves now go, Ships that vanished in the gale Only drift back as a tale. Oh the wind! The wind! Grevesmühl wind! Cold as iron, sharp as sin! Gnolls in hills and thieves at sea, None come here for charity! Raise the mast and curse the day You ever sailed Grevesmühl bay! For gold runs thin and graves run deep In the land Grevesmühl keeps! So trade your steel And take your pay. But never trust Grevesmühl bay.
