The Swordhawk’s Road

Released

…You sailed Massenmarch? Then you know the name. —or you should. No lord was he, no banner sworn No noble blood, no crown at dawn A knife for coin, a shadow’s trade Karl Bissel rose where kings would fade Assassin. Bandit. A whispered name men learned to fear— Then one day found him ruling here He took the crown with blood and lies— Now steel grows where the flesh once died! Hide your gold and bar your door— The Swordhawk walks the Massen shore! He broke Kiergard, he slipped the chain Left Gorgon’s leash in ash and flame No court remains, no nobles stand Just iron camps across the land Killed his master. Took the throne. Made the broken land his own He took the crown with blood and lies— Now steel grows where the flesh once died! Pray you never see him soar— The Swordhawk hunts from sky to shore! Now listen close… the tales get strange… A man like that… don’t stay the same… They say his helm hides more than scars— That something moves beneath the bars Too many eyes… Wings at night… Blades that grow when comes the fight And in the woods where shadows roar— There walks the beast he can’t control… the Boar He took the crown with blood and lies— Now steel grows where the flesh once died! Drink your fill and sail no more— Turn your prow from Massen shore! So trade where you will… Lie if you must… …but don’t cross a man… becoming something worse.
