v0.0.2 — Elves and Orogs
Birthright — Ballads of Cerilia, early beta. Packaged 9 October 2026. This release brings together divine bloodlines, four character classes, Cerilian cultures and faiths, elven and Orog development, Source holdings and custom racial artwork. It remains a developing setting conversion on CK3 geography.
Release identity and installation
- Mod version: 0.0.2. Launcher entry: Birthright - Ballads of Cerilia [BETA].
- Package:
birthright_cerilia_beta_v0.0.2.zip. The prepared folder isbirthright_cerilia_beta. - Existing Steam Workshop listing. The package retains this item ID for updates. Packaging does not establish that the Workshop upload has completed.
- The descriptor declares CK3 1.19.0.6. This is the declared compatibility target, not verified compatibility with every newer patch. Recent court development used installed CK3 1.20.1.0 assets; compatibility still needs live testing.
- For manual installation, extract the ZIP into
Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings III/mod. Enable only one Birthright copy. Fully restart CK3 after installing or switching versions.
Bloodlines, powers and classes
- Divine bloodline derivations and strength, inherited bloodpowers, Regency Point storage and spending, decisions and character interactions.
- Warrior, Arcane, Divine and Merchant lifestyles: four classes, twelve focuses and twelve perk trees with 108 perk definitions. Class choice is permanent through normal play.
- Battle magic and class abilities, trade/investment actions and cultural military content. Arcane and Divine battle spell actions can be used during peace as well as war when their remaining costs, targets and cooldowns permit.
- Corrected Battle Magic perk prerequisites, faith-window interaction handlers, magic decision category headings and updated class/unit artwork.
- Arcane realm spells remain locked: owning a Source holding does not yet satisfy the unfinished Source/Ley Line casting hooks.
Peoples, faiths and armies
- Anuirean, Brecht, Khinasi, Rjurik and Vos cultures with regional traditions, research and buildings; Orog and Sidhelien cultures with their own identity and military choices.
- Cerilian faith definitions and doctrines, Sidhelien spirituality and the Faith of Torazan, with custom religious icons and documented gameplay adaptations.
- Sidhelien adopted personal tenets provide Arcane study, woodland combat or diplomacy/intrigue/stress benefits. Living Woods construction penalties are removed.
- Orog portrait geometry, skin/eye variants, hair, beards, presets and war attire; elven ancestry portrait morphs and presets. Culture and biological ancestry are separate choices.
- Cultural troops and dedicated illustrations, including elven warriors and siege equipment, Orog units and the Legion of the Dead. Elven Longbowmen and Bladesingers include their woodland-focused rebalance.
Elven Blood pedigree
An ancestry score from 0 to 100 replaces the former full/half split. Children inherit the parental mean rounded upward. Scores 1–25, 26–50 and 51–99 grant respectively +20, +200 and +500 years of life expectancy, tiered health and epidemic resistance. At 100, full elves grow through childhood and become immortal at age 18, with ordinary disease protection and youthful adult portraits. Extra life expectancy is not a guaranteed lifespan; violent death and injuries remain possible. Legacy full/half traits migrate to scores 100/50. Elven culture alone does not award ancestry, a class, a divine bloodline or RP.
Research and buildings
- Four shared ages: Ashes (551), Rebuilding (675), Kingdoms (825), Blooded Lords (950). Dates are earliest access, not automatic research; normal discovery and era-transition requirements apply.
- Humans: ten shared first-age innovations plus one regional discovery per culture, with 16 two-level building families. Later shared human research and building tiers remain unfinished.
- Sidhelien: 54 innovations — twelve custom first-age discoveries and fourteen CK3-equivalent discoveries in each later age. Later names and graphics preserve the original technology's mechanics and law references, rather than adding duplicate discoveries.
- Elven ordinary buildings span levels I–VIII; three duchy families have levels I–III, and four siege tiers are available. The ordinary file retains 80 definitions, of which eight old Source levels are retired construction choices: 72 ordinary levels remain buildable, with new Source holdings handled separately.
- Orogs: 44 additional innovations, ten eight-level ordinary chains, eight Torazan Battle-Priest Hall levels, three three-level duchy chains and four siege tiers. Vanilla political research remains available.
- Capital Clan Assemblies provide prestige/control. Levels III, V and VII reduce crown/tribal authority prestige costs by 5%, 7.5% and 10% without removing law prerequisites, approvals or cooldowns.
Source holdings and adventurer camps
- A dedicated Source holding in an eligible empty, non-capital forest/taiga barony of a Sidhelien county. Construction requires Arcane training and the relevant research; the county is limited to one Source.
- Eight primary levels and six four-level support chains: Source Chamber, wards, archives, groves, workshops and observatories. Base income rises from 0.25 to 2 RP monthly before Chamber bonuses.
- RP requires a direct, landed, blooded Arcane holder with an initialized bloodline score and an unoccupied Sidhelien Source. All eligible Sources share a 4 RP monthly cap, and bloodline storage limits still apply. Vassal Sources do not pay their liege.
- Arcane study benefits are capped at +30% experience. Sources do not provide gold or levies. Ley Line Nexuses, Ritual Sanctuaries and realm-spell access remain deferred.
- Existing ordinary Sources are preserved for save compatibility but hidden from new construction. An optional 250-gold decision migrates one eligible legacy Source into a same-level holding. Test migration on a save copy: a failed attempt may leave a partially created holding even when the old Source is retained and the fee refunded.
- Full Sidhelien adventurers receive elven camp artwork and four two-level facilities: Waywatcher Lodge, Moonbow Atelier, Evergreen Stores and Spellsong Circle. These retain normal slots and camp rules; culture alone does not activate the ancestry-based reskin.
Courts and presentation
Custom Sidhelien living-grove and Orog mountain-hall court assets are included, each with three grandeur variants, thrones and artifact supports. Selection follows the ruler's culture and retains the Royal Court requirement. Camera coverage, clipping, lighting and performance still require in-game review. The release also includes the navy-and-gold elf-versus-orog banner marked EARLY BETA v0.0.2, a Workshop-size thumbnail, and asset credits.
Limits and testing
- No complete Cerilia map or populated 551 Cerilia bookmark.
- Human later-age development, Source/Ley Line realm-magic integration and some planned systems remain incomplete.
- This package was checked for file-copy integrity and archive structure. That does not establish successful CK3 gameplay, balanced campaigns, DLC coverage or multiplayer compatibility.
- Fully restart CK3. Use a fresh disposable game for starting culture discoveries; existing saves can test many abilities, buildings, camps and courts, but migration and cross-version save compatibility need checking on copies.
- Enable only one Birthright copy. Mods overriding the same lifestyles, GUI, faiths, history, buildings, laws or court registrations may conflict.
Package record
Runtime content, credits, descriptor and thumbnail are packaged; backups, source-art masters, temporary files and development tools are excluded. A local SHA-256 manifest records the snapshot. The earlier archive is separately recorded as 0.1.0-beta.1; this release uses the user's requested 0.0.2 identity. These notes describe the contents of this package and do not imply every feature was first introduced here. Wiki development pages can describe changes made after this snapshot.
