Erik
Erik guards the forests and wild places. His Rjurik druids teach that people must take only what they need and protect the living world from needless destruction.
Why choose it? Woodland realms, community and respect for nature. Faith affects what people admire in you, your religious relationships and the rules of your realm. It does not automatically change your culture or ancestry.
Beliefs and their benefits
Sanctity of Nature
The natural world is the creation of the divine, and we are merely guests in it. We must respect and honor every tree, every animal, and even the ground itself.
In play: +10 Travel safety; +5 Forest advantage; +0.2 Forest levy size; +0.25 Holding build gold cost; +25% Holding construction time; +20 Nomad government opinion same faith; +20 Tribal government opinion same faith; +20 Wanua government opinion same faith; +5 County opinion.
Sacred Celebrations
Shared observances mark the seasons and bring communities together through music, hospitality, and celebration. Quiet participants are no less welcome than exuberant ones.
In play: +5 Vassal opinion; +5 Courtier opinion.
Guardians of Nature
Nature and its magical sources form a living whole. Erik teaches stewardship of forests and wild places; Ruornil teaches understanding and protection of the magic rooted within them. Their followers study and safeguard this shared inheritance.
In play (current development): +10% Learning lifestyle experience; +10% Arcane lifestyle experience. Available to both Erik and Ruornil faiths, including as a personal tenet. Personal adoption grants the same bonuses in addition to the faith-wide benefits. This tenet does not grant the Arcane class.
Formerly named Guardians of the Sources. The development mod includes this shared tenet in both patrons' core rites. The packaged beta and existing saves may retain their earlier tenet sets. Restart CK3 to load the revised name and description; an existing save is sufficient to check those changes.
What believers admire
Virtues: Content, Diligent, Loyal, Patient, Pilgrim, Temperate, Trusting.
Sins: Deviant, Disloyal, Gluttonous, Greedy, Kinslayer, Lazy.
Virtuous traits improve how fellow believers see you and contribute to piety; sinful traits work against that reputation. A good ruler for one faith may be a poor role model for another.
Rules of the faith
| Topic | What it means for your character |
|---|---|
| Religious relations | The faith window shows the default religious attitude; the special patron relationships below can change it. |
| Belief | This faith recognises multiple gods and spirits. |
| Religious leadership | There is no single head of this faith. |
| Gender | Men hold the dominant position in rulership and succession. |
| Other believers | A firm religious stance between pluralism and fundamentalism. |
| Temple holdings | Religious holdings are managed by the clergy. |
| Marriage | You may have one spouse. |
| Divorce | Ending a marriage requires approval rather than being freely available. |
| Children outside marriage | These children require legitimisation to gain the standing of legitimate children. |
| Marriage between relatives | Cousin marriage is permitted; closer relatives are restricted. |
| Same-sex relations | The faith disapproves, but this alone is not a religious crime. |
| Male adultery | Disapproved of, rather than a religious crime. |
| Female adultery | Disapproved of, rather than a religious crime. |
| Kinslaying | Killing close family is a religious crime. |
| Deviancy | The Deviant trait is treated as criminal. |
| Witchcraft | Accepted by the faith. This does not automatically grant Arcane training. |
| Clergy role | The clergy emphasise charity and keeping communities peaceful. |
| Who can be clergy | Only men. |
| Clerical marriage | Clergy may marry. |
| Appointing clergy | Appointments are spiritual and for life; you cannot freely replace the officeholder. |
| Pilgrimage | Pilgrimage is encouraged, although the Cerilian holy-site network is unfinished. |
| Funerals | Burial honours the dead with a quiet, restrained ceremony. |
| Anointing rulers | Rulership does not use a religious anointment tradition. |
Relations with other faiths
These attitudes concern faith, rather than an entire culture. Righteous means religiously aligned; Astray is a lesser religious difference; Hostile and Evil bring harsher religious penalties. The faith window shows the attitude toward a particular ruler.

Before you plan your campaign
The mod does not yet provide a complete Cerilian holy-site network. Do not choose this faith solely for a pilgrimage destination or holy-site bonus you expect from the setting.
