====== Nesirie ======
Nesirie watches over the sea, sailors, explorers, and the grieving. Her priests offer comfort and mediation; she is wife to Haelyn and mother to Cuiraecen.

**Why choose it?** Compassion, remembrance and peaceful relationships. Faith affects what people admire in you, your religious relationships and the rules of your realm. It does not automatically change your culture or ancestry.

===== Beliefs and their benefits =====

==== Solace and Remembrance ====
Nesirie guides the grieving and preserves the memory of the dead. Her followers offer comfort and protect the histories entrusted to them.

**In play:** +10% Stress lost when relieving stress.

==== Ritual Hospitality ====
Hospitality is one of the greatest virtues mankind can exhibit. Guests in our homes, be they mortal or divine, should always be treated with the utmost honor and respect.

**In play:** +0.3 Monthly piety gain per happy powerful vassal; -20 Travel danger; +10 Courtier and guest opinion; +25% Diplomatic range; +1% Monthly piety gain per court position; +1% Monthly prestige gain per court position.

==== Pacifism ====
Violence is an abhorrent act that only leads to suffering, pain, and regret. By working to avoid it whenever possible we can build stronger, more secure societies for the faithful to live in. Pacifist counties grow and prosper under this peaceful order.

**In play:** +1 Personally held domains; +20% Development growth; +10 County opinion.

===== What believers admire =====
**Virtues:** Calm, Compassionate, Forgiving, Generous, Patient, Pilgrim.

**Sins:** Callous, Deviant, Kinslayer, Vengeful, Wrathful.

Virtuous traits improve how fellow believers see you and contribute to piety; sinful traits work against that reputation. A good ruler for one faith may be a poor role model for another.

===== Rules of the faith =====
^ Topic ^ What it means for your character ^
| Religious relations | The faith window shows the default religious attitude; the special patron relationships below can change it. |
| Belief | This faith recognises multiple gods and spirits. |
| Religious leadership | There is no single head of this faith. |
| Gender | Men and women can govern on equal terms. |
| Other believers | A firm religious stance between pluralism and fundamentalism. |
| Temple holdings | Religious holdings are managed by the clergy. |
| Marriage | You may have one spouse. |
| Divorce | Ending a marriage requires approval rather than being freely available. |
| Children outside marriage | These children require legitimisation to gain the standing of legitimate children. |
| Marriage between relatives | Cousin marriage is permitted; closer relatives are restricted. |
| Same-sex relations | The faith disapproves, but this alone is not a religious crime. |
| Male adultery | Disapproved of, rather than a religious crime. |
| Female adultery | Disapproved of, rather than a religious crime. |
| Kinslaying | Killing close family is a religious crime. |
| Deviancy | The Deviant trait is treated as criminal. |
| Witchcraft | Accepted by the faith. This does not automatically grant Arcane training. |
| Clergy role | The clergy emphasise charity and keeping communities peaceful. |
| Who can be clergy | Only women. |
| Clerical marriage | Clergy may marry. |
| Appointing clergy | Appointments are spiritual and for life; you cannot freely replace the officeholder. |
| Pilgrimage | Pilgrimage is encouraged, although the Cerilian holy-site network is unfinished. |
| Funerals | Burial honours the dead with a quiet, restrained ceremony. |
| Anointing rulers | Rulership does not use a religious anointment tradition. |

===== Relations with other faiths =====
These attitudes concern faith, rather than an entire culture. **Righteous** means religiously aligned; **Astray** is a lesser religious difference; **Hostile** and **Evil** bring harsher religious penalties. The faith window shows the attitude toward a particular ruler.

===== Before you plan your campaign =====
The mod does not yet provide a complete Cerilian holy-site network. Do not choose this faith solely for a pilgrimage destination or holy-site bonus you expect from the setting.
